Sardonyx is by nature a subspecies of the well-known mineral onyx - fibrous chalcedony quartz with a multi-colored flat-parallel layered structure. It is its magical multi-colored layers that attract the attention of stone lovers, captivating them with their beauty. Rare, literally individual minerals have an almost transparent shell, translucent to a depth of 4 cm. But more often these stones are opaque, completely matte, with a slight waxy sheen. The color range is diverse - you can find sardonyx in contrasting red-black shades, and with iridescent layers of honey-golden tones, and with veins of almost scarlet color.
